    I kind of know what you mean, or I at least see how it could. The Monkees are interesting, inasmuch as they became something kind of weirder than any pre-fab boy group before or since. You have any idea if they were playing their own instruments when that song was written? There's a kind of anxiousness in that song you'd think wouldn't exist if it came from session players. One of the best songs ever to feature a sort-of Carleton alum?
